As it has happened in some other countries in Latin America, Venezuela has experienced a delicate process of constitutional and institutional reforms over the last decades. In this paper, there are analyzed aspects related to the government system, the judiciary, human rights, and the political parties in Venezuela. This paper pretends to come up with some lessons learnt as well as some challenges wich are intoduced to by this political evolution in Venezuela, mainly tought the examination of the 2007 constitutional reform project.
