This article looks into the context that defined the Chilean presence in that important selection. The inclusion of Emilio Duhart's and Jorge Costabal's houses in such a publication shows a revision of Chilean architecture towards 1954, of the context of Hitchcock and McKenna's visit, and of the projects they had time to see during their stay in Santiago. This revision allows us to identify the constant features of the Curatorial Process and the publishings on architecture of that time.
