In this paper I examine the long-standing influence of Huidobro poetry on all Chilean poets from his time to the present. All changes in poetic theory and practice that have taken place since he began publishing his first Creationist poems would be inconceivable without the precedent of his radical poetics and his defiant personal attitude.
