This study examines discrimination by sex and gender in terms of political rights, social inclusion and economic situation in a comparative perspective, in due of the question: Does the social construction of gender from public policies really affect inequality indicators? For this, the main indicators of gender equality between 1992 and 2010 are examined, and their relationship within public policies that affect the social construction of gender in Chile and Spain.
