The competitiveness of the production of table grapes for export in Chile is affected by the concern of consumers about the water consumption in production processes. The objective of this work was to determine productive factors associated with the level of eco-efficiency in the water consumption for irrigation in a table grapes production. The eco-efficiency level was determined from the proportion of blue water footprint on the gray water footprint calculated from the productive process, which were quantified in 12 production units located in the Commune of Placilla, O'Higgins Region, Central Valley of Chile. The results show a positive correlation between the eco-efficiency level and yield (kg/plant), while other factors such as plants density and nitrogen dose were not significantly correlated with eco-efficiency. Likewise, yield and Nitrogen quantity applied to the crop are parameters that predict the eco-efficiency value of the production process. In conclusion, the yield of the crop together with the use of nitrogen are specific indicators of the level of eco-efficiency in the consumption of water for irrigation, therefore, any management practice aimed at increasing yield or decreasing nitrogen fertilization should improve the value of eco-efficiency of water consumption reached in the productive process.
