The sixties' cultural and intellectual field consisted of several spaces and institutions that spread as discursive interaction nets. From journals like Casa de las Americas and Mundo Nuevo, different ways of thinking the writers' labor in the face of the special context created by the Cuban Revolution were stablished, at the same time that perspectives to think the Latin-American emerged. In this context of culminating political and ideological discussion, Severo Sarduy's Neobaroque proposal took shape, specifically, in his articles published in Mundo Nuevo journal. Nevertheless, most of the analysis focused on his work do not address that fact. In this work some of these articles, that can be considered the beginning of Neobaroque, are studied in the light of their social context and the intellectual controversies of the time.
