| The authors are grateful to Dr. Jaime Zipper, inventor of the Quinacrine Pellet Method of Sterilization, for his mentoring and guidance over many years, and we are saddened to note that he died in March 2011. This project also owes much to the careful long-term follow-up work conducted in Valdivia by Dr. Rene Guzman-Serani, who died in April 2009. This study was supported in part by FHI 360 with funds from an anonymous foundation. The views expressed in this article do not necessarily reflect those of the authors' institutions. FHI 360 is an international not-for-profit organization that supports public health interventions and conducts research to improve health in developing countries. |
