This article reflects the thinking of both authors: the philosopher Paul Ricoeur and Rabbi Nilton Bonder towards the subject of "myth of the fall." They turn to their symbolic function, as an attempt to explain one of the most nerve-Christian anthropology around understanding of evil and original sin. This resort to the Philosophical Review of the myth, whose emphasis, according to Paul Ricoeur, it is not on its reduction, but in assessing its latent strength. Thus the authors raise the possibility of a word, that waiver will start with a truth for herself, pointing to the understanding of man and of his own himself.
